Cream stoneware cut in the shape of an angel, finished with a reactive glaze that settles into the pressed lace texture running down one side of her gown, and the word Peace stamped in a neat vertical line. A deep green velvet ribbon ties at the top and doubles as the hanging loop. She measures roughly 5 by 3 inches, substantial enough for a front facing branch where the glaze can take the tree lights. Mud Pie sets the ornament in a plain kraft tray, which is why it travels so easily as a gift for a hostess, a teacher, or the friend who adds one new ornament every year.
