Cut and layered from hand-painted tin, this angel wears a sage green gown with looped gold wire wings, a gold wire halo, and wire curls at the hem. A small red bow with a gold bell sits at her chest, and the red and white checked ribbon at the top is long enough to loop over a high branch. She measures 6 inches by 5 1/2 inches, one of the larger pieces on the tree. Farmhouse trees, a kitchen window, a wreath on the front door: she works anywhere the red reads as Christmas. Mud Pie sends her out as the sort of ornament a hostess opens at the door and hangs the same night.
