A snowflake is the one ornament that can stay up after the presents are opened, so this is the piece for a tree you keep lit well into January. Each is clear glass frosted over the crown, with iridescent snowflakes circling the middle and a sheen inside the glass that shifts as daylight moves across the room. Kurt S. Adler, Inc. makes it in glass rather than plastic, and it has a satisfying weight in the hand. Choose the ball or the drop for a white tree, a winter mantel, or a friend with a January birthday.

Each item sold separately. Each order includes one in your selected design.

• Ball: round and full, with the snowflakes ringing its widest point
• Drop: a slimmer shape that tapers to a point, frosted at the crown and the tip
• Glass, iridescent finish, silver cap and hanger
