The handle is a hand-painted Christmas tree, deep green with red baubles and a gold garland winding around it, topped with a small red bow; the blade below is stainless steel with a brass plate finish. The whole spreader measures 5 1/2 inches, the right length to leave standing in a wheel of brie or a crock of pimento cheese. It arrives mounted on a kraft card with a stitched red ribbon, so it can go straight into a stocking or sit on top of a wrapped bottle of wine. Hand wash only. Mud Pie made it for the cheese board that stays out all afternoon on Christmas Day.
