Evening reading begins beside the lamp, and a low acrylic stand with a slit for the card holds one verse at eye level while the day settles. Slide in a new card whenever the mood suits and let the season's words keep company with the page you are reading.

Thirty-six cards give a long run of Christmas passages, with designs that include a wreath of berries, a red plaid frame and a green linen border with a bow. The holly cross on the cover, from Rosanne Beck Collections, sets the tone for the whole collection, and the acrylic stand keeps the card you choose in view.
