Two candy canes crossed and worked in needlepoint, red and white against a green bow stitched in the same thread, with deep green edging carried all the way around the shape. The back is velvet and a cotton cord loop runs from the top for hanging. Needlepoint gives it a texture worth seeing up close, and this one measures 3 3/4 by 3 1/2 inches, sized for a middle branch where the stitching can be seen up close. Mud Pie makes it easy to start someone's collection with a single piece, which is what makes it a good stocking gift or a place marker at a Christmas dinner.
