Ballerina Appliqued Felted Wool Christmas Stocking

A dancer mid leap on a cream felted wool stocking, her leotard and slippers appliqued in two shades of pink, a real tulle tutu stitched on so it stands away from the surface, and a small bow in her hair. Pink blanket stitch runs along the cuff and a loop at the back takes the stocking hook. It measures 19 by 11 1/2 inches, deep enough for ribbons, a book, hair pins and the usual small things. The front is 65 percent wool and 35 percent polyester, with a cotton back and lining. Mud Pie made this one for the child who lives at the barre, and it will read the same on the mantel in ten years.
