The manger scene painted small and by hand: the infant asleep on a bed of green boughs, a gold halo above him and the star of Bethlehem overhead, worked on recycled pulp paper whose pebbled surface stays visible under the brushwork. Mud Pie sets the painting inside a square acrylic ornament with a gold border, finished with an ivory satin ribbon bow at the top. It measures 4 by 4 inches. This is the ornament for the front of the tree at eye height, or for a grandmother who keeps the nativity out from Advent through Epiphany. The ivory ribbon is long enough to hang it well forward on the branch.
